Migrant youth experience Western for a day

The annual migrant youth leadership conference pairs youth with WWU student leaders for a day of touring the campus, workshops and activities. The idea of the conference is to give migrant youth a chance to explore Western and discover what higher education looks, feels, tastes, sounds and even smells like.

This year’s conference was held May 21, drawing students from both Whatcom and Skagit Counties. The end of the conference was held in the VU MPR where the Baile Folclorico de WWU and spoken word artist Nef, Neftali Ramirez, performed.
