As part of the Employee Recognition Ceremony on May 10, WWU President Sabah Randhawa gave out his annual President’s Exceptional Effort Awards. This year, President Randhawa received 95 nominations for the 8 awards, with the following employees being honored this year: Austin Cooper from Academic Budget and Administration; Linda Flanagan from the English Department; Viva Barnes from Anthropology; Bob Putich of the Student Business Office; Debby Cwalina from Human Resources; Karl Klokkevold of the Viking Union; Amelia Cave from Prevention and Wellness Services;  and Barbara Sandoval from the President's Office (see right for photos).

Western's faculty and staff were also honored for their years of service to Western (including Mathematics' Keith Craswell, who has taught at Western for an astounding 50 years), recent retirees were recognized, and those who have recently passed were  remembered.
