Alumna demonstrates e-bikes, bike-sharing system

Western alumna Katherine Frankhauser visited Western Washington University's Bellingham campus Thursday, May 21, to demonstrate electric bicycles and to talk about bike-sharing programs.

The bikes were from Frankhauser's company, Spark Mobility. Spark Mobility is an e-bike, e-scooter, and car sharing company started by Frankhauser, a graduate of Huxley College of the Environment in 2003. The company's mission is to address urban mobility challenges through the resourceful use of technological innovations in sustainable and economically viable solutions.

"We're demonstrating the possibility," Frankhauser said at the event. "Giving people a taste of what could be."
