Pecha-Kucha night to be held Oct. 25 in honor of National Archives Month

In celebration of Archives Month, the Goltz-Murray Archives Building at Western Washington University will play host to an "Archives Month Pecha-Kucha" event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25. The campus community is invited to attend.

This event will feature fast-paced presentations by WWU professional archivists and by WWU graduate students in the History Department's Archives and Records Management graduate program. The Pecha-Kucha slideshow format features 20 images each lasting just 20 seconds.

Student presentations will highlight the unique archival collections encountered in the students' spring/summer internships across the country. Archivist presenters will include instructors from the graduate program in Archives and Records Management who will present on film preservation/digitization and on a major collection of aerial photographs.

This event is co-sponsored by the WWU Student Chapter of the Society of American Archivist and the History Department's Graduate Program in Archives and Records Management, with a financial contribution from Northwest Archivists (a regional professional association).
