Oculus’ Peter Bristol to speak at WWU Nov. 10

Western Washington University’s Department of Design will host product designer Peter Bristol at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10 in Fraser Hall Room 4 on Western’s campus.

The talk is free and open to the public.

Peter Bristol is currently serving as a creative director at Oculus in Seattle. A graduate of Western Washington University’s Industrial Design Program, Bristol has been recognized with more than 20 international design awards and served as a judge for multiple design competitions. His work blends form with function in uniquely appropriate ways, making products that are inherently progressive and recognizable.

Bristol is currently helping define virtual-reality products at Oculus and previously led product development as a creative director at Carbon Design Group. He also continues to collaborate with other design-focused companies to create furniture, lighting, and other goods.

This presentation is part of Western’s Design View lecture series, featuring design leaders from architecture, product design and graphic design. The final guest speaker of the series will feature Ann Willoughby of Willoughby Design on Monday, Dec. 1.
