Nutrition seminar series starts Friday on campus

A new brown-bag seminar series on nutrition starts Friday with the topic "The History of Diets – Myths and Trends."

Sarah Richey, Western Washington University's nutritionist, will discuss the terrible impact of the drive for thinness, hazardous weight loss, manipulation by the industry, and -- despite all this --the unremitting weight gain of the population.

The series is presented by the Faculty & Staff Wellness Program and Campus Recreation Services.

The nutrition series will take place from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. on the first Friday of every month.

The first class is located in Haggard Hall 153, but future seminars will be in other locations.

The seminars are free to attend, and no pre-registration is needed.
