Writing More Effective Proposals - Upcoming RSP Workshops

Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is pleased to once again offer workshops designed to help faculty and staff write more effective proposals to external agencies.   Workshops will provide information and support to faculty and staff in a number of research related areas.  A variety of workshops are offered each quarter.  The sessions are intended to be interactive and are meant to build a community for those involved in writing proposals.

Our second workshop will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from noon-1 p.m. in VU 460.  Tracey Finch will lead the discussion, and she will cover proposal preparation.  She will look at the pieces of a proposal using the National Science Foundation as a model. She will also answer questions regarding proposal preparation for other external agencies.

Following the proposal preparation workshop, RSP will offer two additional workshops this quarter.  On Wednesday, Oct.26, Tracey will lead a discussion of the ins and outs of budget creation at noon in VU 460.  Our fall quarter workshop will conclude on Wednesday, Nov. 2. The topics of the final workshop for the quarter will be research participant compliance presented by Janai Symons, and lab safety presented by Sue Sullivan.  It will take place at noon in VU 462A.

Graduate students and all faculty are encouraged to attend.  If you would like to be added to the email list for workshop information, please contact the RSP Program Coordinator, Coco Besson, at coco.besson@wwu.edu.
