Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee is accepting Tech Initiatives abstracts

Colleagues,

The Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee is accepting Tech Initiatives abstracts for the current academic year. All Western employees and students may apply, and abstracts from employees are due to the Student Technology Fee Committee Jan.17.

Please see these two key documents, which are on the Student Technology Fee website at http://www.wwu.edu/stf/tech-initiatives.shtml.

  • Tech Initiatives Abstract Form
  • Tech Initiatives Proposal Process – For Employees

Please email your abstracts directly to the STF Committee. (There is no prioritizing process before submittal this year.) After the Committee receives all abstracts from employees and students, it will select those abstracts for which it would like to see full proposals.

Tech Initiatives make up approximately 8.5 percent of the Student Technology Fee, or approximately $125,000 in AY 2017. The Tech Initiatives portion of the Student Technology Fee pays for technology projects—proposed by employees and students—that support the Student Technology Fee mission.

For a complete picture of the Tech Initiatives proposal process, interested employees should refer to the Student Technology Fee website at http://www.wwu.edu/stf/. You'll find this year's timeline, full instructions, forms, the previous year's proposals, and project history.

If you have any questions, please call my assistant, Diane Bateman, at extension 3917.

Thank you, and the STF Committee looks forward to receiving your abstracts!
