Stewart, students have work published in Vietnam magazine
Several students in history professor Mart Stewart's Vietnam and American study abroad course, which traveled to Vietnam for 20 days in December 2011, have published translated essays about their Vietnam field research in an ideas and culture magazine, Tia Sang, in Hanoi (March 16, 2012):
- Gabe Sowa: "Vietnam's Digital Natives"
- Taneum Bambrit: "Ho Xuan Huong's poetic spirit in Vietnam"
- Brooke Warren: "Looking for Catfish and Finding Vietnam"
- Anna Le "What is Vietnam?"
Le's essay about food and identity was from the Vietnam and American 2010 course; an earlier version of the essay appeared in Sinh Viên Việt Nam in Ho Chi Minh City in May 2011. Gabe Sowa's essay has been posted on several social network sites in Vietnam, including YuMe.vn, which has three million subscribers, in Ho Chi Minh City.
An interview with Professor Stewart, "Youth Culture and Global Education," about the many exchanges between Western students and Vietnamese students in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Can Tho during the study abroad course, also was published in this issue of Tia Sang.
