McKinney authors new crime novel, reading is Nov. 17

Gary McKinney, a management analyst in the Western Washington University Provost's Office, has a new novel out.

"Darkness Bids the Dead Goodbye," published by his own Kearney Street Books, is the follow-up to McKinney's earlier novel "Slipknot."

McKinney will give a reading from the book at 7 p.m. at Village Books and will play a few Grateful Dead covers with his band Fritz & the Chryslers, a combination of the groups Fritz & the Freeloaders and The Chryslers, both of which count McKinney as a member.
