Lopresti wins 2014 Derringer Award for short fiction

Robert Lopresti, a librarian in the Western Washington University Libraries, has won the 2014 Derringer Award for Best Short Mystery Story.

His story, "The Present," appeared in the February-May 2013 issue of The Strand Magazine. The Short Mystery Fiction Society gives out four Derringer Awards each year for different lengths of mystery stories. The society's website contains a video of Lopresti's acceptance speech.
