Journalism's Stephen Howie ghost-writes "Anti-Cancer Living" for Viking Press

May 1 marks the release of “Anti-Cancer Living,” ghost written by WWU Senior Instructor Stephen Howie for Dr. Lorenzo Cohen, director of Integrative Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and his wife, educator Allison Jefferies. Published by Viking, the book has been translated in 10 different languages with more than a dozen foreign contracts.

While maintaining his full-time job teaching journalism and serving as the university's advisor for Multidisciplinary Studies majors, Howie engaged in hours of research and conducted countless interviews with the world’s leading cancer doctors and health care providers in addition to interviewing many cancer survivors. He was in constant contact with Allison and Lorenzo in Houston, whose steadfast dedication to fighting cancer was an inspiration.
