History's Ricardo López-Pedreros awarded a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship at University College London

Western Washington University Professor of History Ricardo López-Pedreros have been awarded a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship at University College London's Institute of the Americas.  While at UCL-IA, as Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor, he will explore the contested histories of democracies in the Americas. In particular, he will present his recent research on the historical formation of the middle classes in Latin America. He will also work on his current research on the social foundations of neoliberalism in the Americas during the second half of the twentieth century

The Leverhulme Trust was established by the Will of William Hesketh Lever, the founder of Lever Brothers. Since 1925 the Trust has provided grants and scholarships for research and education. Today, it is one of the largest all-subject providers of research funding in the UK.
