Gogröf speaks, chairs session at PAMLA conference

Andrea Gogröf, professor in the Liberal Studies Department, gave a talk titled "Flair du Temps: The Dandy in Michel Houellebecq’s novel Submission" at the annual PAMLA (Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association) conference Nov. 5 to 8 in Portland. This year, Gogröf is vice-president of the PAMLA.

In addition, Gogröf chaired the session entitled "Contemporary European Cinema," in which Riley Jessett, a Western student double-majoring in Liberal Studies and English, presented a paper titled "Is Cinema Mortal? The Lumière Short Films of Costa-Gavras, Haneke, and Wenders."
