Nominations open for PSO excellence award

Nominations are now open for the Professional Staff Organization Award for Excellence, which honors one professional staff employee at Western Washington University who is recognized for one or more of the following qualities:

  • Exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in the performance of her/his job duties to the benefit of faculty, staff and students
  • Exceptional level of integrity, professionalism and job performance that inspires excellence in others and contributes to Western's mission and values
  • Exhibits and encourages excellence in initiative, creativity and willingness to explore new ideas through work and interaction with others

The award is presented annually at fall convocation by Western President Bruce Shepard, and the recipient’s name is added to the PSO Employee Excellence Award plaque located in Wilson Library. A photo is displayed on the fourth floor of Old Main as well.

Nominations will be accepted online until noon Friday, May 31.

This past year’s recipient was Dana Edward, director of certification and accreditation, Woodring College of Education.
