Nominations open for pro staff excellence award

 

Nominations being accepted for 2013 Professional Staff Organization’s Award for Excellence, which honors one Western Washington University pro staff employee annually for having one or more of the following qualities:

  • Exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in the performance of her/his job duties to the benefit of faculty, staff and students.
  • Exceptional level of integrity, professionalism and job performance that inspires excellence in others and contributes to Western's mission and values.
  • Exhibits and encourages excellence in initiative, creativity and willingness to explore new ideas through work and interaction with others.

The award is presented annually at fall convocation by President Bruce Shepard, and the recipient’s name is added to the PSO Employee Excellence Award plaque located in Wilson Library. Last year’s recipient was Dana Edward, director of certification and accreditation at Woodring College of Education.

Nominations are easy and can be made online. Any university faculty or staff member may nominate a pro staff member. All nominations must be submitted by noon, May 31, and will be reviewed and selected by the PSO Award Committee.
