Everything you need to know about Design Conductor, Western’s go-to online platform for graphic branding tools

Looking for a simple online tool to consolidate graphic templates for your organization? Design Conductor, a web-based graphic production platform adopted by Western, is a quick and easy tool to keep templates and create branded marketing materials quickly and easily.

Design Conductor has a massive library of pre-made templates to suit a variety of needs: letterhead, brochures, flyers, posters, certificates, postcards, social media images, digital slides, and much more.

A Design Conductor account grants access to the main template library. Depending on your unit/department, signing up for an account allows you to access templates specific to your unit/department. The application is made easy-to-use– even those without graphic design experience can easily create polished deliverables.

Jesse Sturgis, Assistant Director of Creative Services for University Relations Marketing, notes the ease of use that comes with working with Design Conductor.

“Design Conductor’s point-and-click interface allows you to add your own content and photos in seconds,” Sturgis said. “Once you create a document, it's there for future updates. No need to recreate materials if you simply need to change a date or a photo.”

Sturgis recommends Design Conductor to anyone who wants to make consistently organized documents, or whose job descriptions include recruitment or marketing duties: positions like office or program managers, communications consultants, event coordinators and office assistants.

“In most cases, you can design and have the file print or screen-ready within a day,” Sturgis said.

Access to Design Conductor includes an unlimited templates, web-based training and ongoing support, 10 GB of data storage, secure host servers and data encryption to keep your documents secure.

Western offers free access to Design Conductor to students, faculty and staff. To get access, send an email to creative@wwu.edu and request an invitation.
