Western Washington University and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory are co-organizing the Western Washington Workshop on Data-Driven Discovery (W3D3), taking place at Western on Saturday, May 16.

The goal of this workshop is to bring together two communities from the Pacific Northwest, with the hope of fostering productive collaborations:

1) Experts from a wide range of domains with interesting problems and data from their field, and

2) Computer scientists and mathematicians with data science skills and interests.

Correspondingly, there are two tracks for participation: a Problems track (to present domain problems and data) and a Methods track (to present on-going or completed data science-related work).  The presentation format will be poster, with short spotlight talks for some of the posters.

We intentionally chose a date after Scholars Week, to make it easy for students to participate if they have suitable Scholar's Week posters.

Submissions are just a 200-400 word abstract, and are non-archival; i.e., you may submit work recently published, and submission here does not preclude future publication.  The submission deadline is Feb 15.

Please consider participating via either track (with as many submissions as suitable), and please help us advertise this workshop to any of your Pacific Northwest colleagues who may be interested. See more at https://sites.google.com/view/data-driven-discovery/home.
