Retirement celebration for Huxley's Bonnie Drewes set for Jan. 31

A retirement celebration for Bonnie Drewes to honor her more than 30 years at Western will be held from 3-5 p.m.on Thursday Jan. 31 in the Solarium, Old Main 590.

From 1985 to 2009, Drewes worked in the Woodring College of Education; one year in the Office of Field Experiences, then as Operations Manager, working with three different deans.  From 2009-2012, she was the administrative assistant for the Critical Junctures Institute at WWU (a grant-funded partnership between WWU and Peace Health St. Joseph Hospital). From 2012-2014, she took a two-year hiatus from administrative work and went to Holden Village, where she lived and worked in a remote retreat center located on the east side of the North Cascades. From 2014-present, she has served in the Environmental Sciences Department in Western's Huxley College of the Environment,  managing more than 100 field trips per year for the department and its students.

All are welcomed to attend.
