Michael Massanari, director of research at the Critical Junctures Institute, will give a lecture titled "Innovative Technologies to Improve Drug Safety: Distributed, Collaborative Intelligent Agents for Proactive Post-Marketing Drug Safety Surveillance" from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at the CJI offices at 625 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham.
On March 1, Western Washington University will play host to three guests from San Francisco: Consul Michael Ahrens and scholarship adviser Leslie Harlson, both from the German Consulate, and Arndt Peltner from Radio Goethe.
With support from the Activities Committee of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and the German Consulate, the German Section at Western has organized three events, all free and open to the public. Leslie Harlson will first present on scholarship opportunities in Germany from 2 to 3 p.m. in College Hall Room 131.

The Equal Opportunity Office at Western Washington University is seeking comments until March 30 on its proposed revision to the Discrimination Complaint Procedure (PRO-U2120.01). The proposed revision deletes paragraph 2e. Investigation Assistance so that the EOO can be neutral and objective in its investigations.

The Office of Admissions at Western Washington University is playing host to an overnight visit on Thursday, March 4, and Friday, March 5, for 23 prospective freshmen admitted with highest honors. Admission to WWU with highest honors is determined based on outstanding academic history and standardized exam scores. The visiting students are an elite group—their average cumulative high school GPA is 3.98.
