WWU's Small Business Development Center to hold government contracting workshops Oct. 15

The WWU Small Business Development Center is holding two government contracting workshops, “Government Contracting 101 and Tips on Marketing to the Government” from 9-11:30 a.m. and “Certifications and Funding” from 1-3:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the SBDC office at 115 Unity St. #101 in Bellingham.

Both workshops are free and open to the public.

The federal government is the world’s largest consumer and buys virtually everything, and state and local governments are also large consumers. Doing business with the government is complicated. Attend these two free workshops to gain insight into the government marketplace and if you qualify, to obtain certifications that enhance your competitiveness.

Registration for the workshops is required and those interested can register online.

The workshops are presented at no charge by Economic Alliance of Snohomish County in partnership with SBDC, Port of Bellingham, Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce, and City of Bellingham.

Western’s SBDC is part of the most comprehensive small-business alliance in the United States, with more than 1,000 active SBDC programs across the country. It receives support from the United States Small Business Administration, Whatcom County, the Port of Bellingham, and the City of Bellingham. Since 1983, Western’s SBDC has given back to the business community and helped to shape the economic future of Whatcom County by providing free, confidential advising, technical assistance, and research to business owners and managers in an effort to help businesses thrive.
