WWU's Michael Wolff to debut his new documentary, "Hot Lands," Oct. 30 at the Pickford

WWU Associate Professor of Political Science Michael Wolff will have a cinematic debut of his film "Hot Lands: Capturing War in the Heart of Mexico" at the Pickford Film Center in downtown Bellingham at noon on Saturday, Oct. 30 as part of its annual "Doctober" film festival.  The film will be shown as a double feature with 499 by Rodrigo Reyes. Wolff's film follows a photojournalist who is documenting the complicated, violent conflict intimately connected not only to a history of drug cartels and failures by the Mexican government, but American markets and policy. Wolff will introduce his film, and then give a presentation, following the screenings of "Hot Lands" and of 499.
