WWU's Debra Jusak accepts appointment as special assistant to the provost

Western Washington University Provost Catherine Riordan has announced that WWU professor Debra Jusak will be reassigned from her current faculty position in the Department of Computer Science effective Aug. 1 for an initial two-year appointment as the special assistant to the provost. This position is not a new position but rather a reconfiguration of the duties and responsibilities of the former position of vice provost for faculty relations.

It is anticipated that with her technical experience, statistical background and service as a department chair, professor Jusak will be a valuable resource as the university addresses a number of important projects and initiatives, including the development of policies and practices regarding resource planning and allocation, effective communication strategies and planning for the future.

"The fact that a number of strongly qualified WWU faculty members expressed interest in this opportunity to provide assistance and support for the university’s faculty, students and administration over the next few years is much appreciated," according to an announcement from the Provost's Office.
