WWU's AUAP to hold Welcome Ceremony on Thursday

Language and Culture Program’s Asia University America Program (AUAP) at Western Washington University will host a ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, to welcome 45 students from Tokyo's Asia University.

The ceremony will take place in Miller Hall 152, and a reception will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Miller Hall Collaborative Space. This event is free and open to the public.

AUAP students come to the United States from Japan for five-month cycles. This is the 60th such cycle, as we celebrate 31 years of partnership. The AUAP offers students an opportunity to study abroad at WWU. The goal of the program is to provide AUAP students with high quality English language instruction, community engagement, and culturally enriching extracurricular activities, while at the same time offering WWU students, faculty and staff unique opportunities for language and cultural interaction, exchange and involvement.

Since 1988, 4,057 Asia University students have participated in the WWU AUAP. For more information, visit http://www.wwu.edu/auap/ or call 360-650-3308.
