WWU to test indoor, outdoor building enunciation system Monday, March 23

Western Washington University plans to test its indoor and outdoor building enunciation system at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23.

Use of the indoor and outdoor building enunciation is one element of a group of methods used to reach students, faculty, and staff with important safety information, called Western Alert.

A test voice message will be sent using only the indoor and outdoor enunciation system. Messages may sound several times during testing. Outdoor speakers are located at:the university tennis courts, the south campus oval at the Communications Facility, and at the Old Main lawn.  Amber fire alarm strobes also will flash in the main corridors of academic buildings and bathrooms.

Text, email and other elements of Western Alert will not be included in this March 23 test. A full test of the entire Western Alert system is planned for April 16.
