WWU to offer violence prevention training on campus March 14

Though they're not common, incidents of violence on a university campus always are a possibility. Knowing what behaviors are cause for concern and how to react when violence occurs could mean the difference between safety and serious injury.

The Department of Public Safety at Western Washington University will offer a free violence prevention training on March 14 for those in the WWU community.

Roughly 80 percent of all individuals committing acts of violence on campuses provided some signal ahead of time that they might become violent. This session will alert attendees to behaviors of concern, what to look for and how to notify Western's Safety Assessment Team.

Sessions will be held at the following dates and locations, and are limited to 35 participants each:

Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM in Communication Facility 420
