WWU to Host Winter Career Fair Feb. 8

Job seekers looking for ways to connect directly with employers are invited to attend Western Washington University’s Winter Career Fair, which will take place from 11 am to 3 pm on Thursday, February 8th in the Wade King Student Recreation Center MAC Gym. Admission to the fair is free to job seekers and open to the public.

Co-sponsored by Western’s College of Science and Engineering and Career Services Center, the Winter Career Fair is a major recruiting event that allows students and the general public to meet with hiring managers from over 80 organizations, including private-sector companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies.  This year’s fair will feature a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) section. Participating employers include: Alcoa, Conversica, CRAY, Expeditors, Integra, Janicki, PACCAR, Puget Sound Energy and others.

Other participating employers include: BECU, Cascade Connections, Enterprise, KeyBank, King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, Lindquist LLP, Motorola Solutions, PEMCO, the Port of Seattle and Slalom Consulting.

This event provides valuable opportunities for students and alumni of all majors to discuss internship and employment possibilities with participating organizations.  For those who may be uncertain about their career goals or options, the Winter Career Fair is an excellent resource for conducting job market research.

To make the most of the Career Fair experience, job seekers should research participating companies in advance, dress in professional business attire, and bring resumes.
