WWU to host Poet Julian Talamantez Brolaski April 24

Western Washington University’s English Department, Women Gender and Sexuality Studies, the Equity and Inclusion Forum, and the LGBTQ Advocacy Council will host reading by poet Julian Talamantez Brolaski at 6 p.m.on Tuesday, April 24 in Viking Union Room 565.

Brolaski is the author of “Of Mongrelitude” (Wave Books 2017), which was just shortlisted for a Lambda Literary Award for Transgender Poetry and “Advice for Lovers (City Lights 2012), gowanus atropolis (Ugly Duckling Presse 2011), and co-editor of “NO GENDER: Reflections on the Life & Work of kari Edwards” (Litmus Press / Belladonna Books 2009).

Brolaski is currently the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the country bands Juan & the Pines (Brooklyn) and The Western Skyline (Oakland) and researching and editing “The Apache Pollen Path,” a book on the Mescalero Apache female initiation ceremony with its grandmother, Inés Talamantez.
