WWU’s Ray Wolpow Institute to Host ‘Teaching the Holocaust 101’ Oct. 18

Western Washington University’s Ray Wolpow Institute for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Crimes Against Humanity is partnering with the Holocaust Center for Humanity in Seattle to host the workshop "Teaching the Holocaust 101" on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The workshop, which is open to teachers and pre-service teachers and runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., is co-sponsored by the Wolpow Institute, the Holocaust Center for Humanity, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. 

Teachers will earn six clock hours, and lunch is provided. Sessions will be taught by Ilana Cone Kennedy, Paul Minckler, and Sandra Alfers, and will cover topics such as challenging stereotypes, citizenship, rescue and resistance. 

The registration deposit of $20 will be refunded upon workshop attendance. Registration is now open on the website of the Holocaust Center for Humanity in Seattle.
