WWU Researchers: Delayed Implementation of the Revised 'Common Rule'

If you conduct or supervise research with human subjects or plan to at any point, please note the following:

On Dec. 4, Research & Sponsored Programs sent an email about the notice of revisions to the “Common Rule” – the federal regulations establishing the rules governing human subjects research (45 Code of Federal Regulations 46, SubpartA). These revisions were set to be implemented on Jan. 19. We have received notice that federal agencies have delayed the implementation of these regulations to July 19. Please see the email below from the Office for Human Research Protections for additional information. 

In our initial email we also promised to release a new application form, consent templates,and a new website. We still plan to release these new materials shortly, at which point we will send another notification email.
