WWU Judo Club competes in tournament in Spokane

The Western Judo Club traveled to Spokane May 28 for the Inland Empire Judo Classic Tournament. The competitors included WWU students Mikala Conway, Camden Bach, and Ian Llaneza. Mark Glaser traveled as coach for the group.

Conway entered the Senior Men's Novice Heavy division winning 4 and with only one loss to earn second place.

Bach entered the Senior Men's Novice Ultra division, placing him in third for his hard fought effort.

Llaneza fought in the Senior Men's Novice Middle division and had an outstanding day with all three wins putting him on top for first place.

These wins point out how each one of the club members help each other by practicing energetically and doing good work to improve the team's performance. Congratulations to all of the Western team members! The club's next event will be in the fall, and the club will continue practices during summer session.

The Western Judo Club meets Monday and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Bellis Fair Mall. See the Judo Club Facebook page for more information at https://www.facebook.com/groups/WesternJudo/
