WWU hosting broadcast Q&A events with three speakers in February and March

NSLS-WWU, Associated Students of Western Washington University, the LEADS program, and the Karen W. Morse Institute for Leadership will offer the following winter quarter speaker broadcasts for the Western campus. The speakers are designed to support The National Society of Leadership and Success’s overall mission of Building Leaders Who Make a Better World.  All three National Society of Leadership and Success speakers are hosted by iPlay America in New Jersey. All viewers are invited to submit questions at each broadcast via Twitter and Facebook, which will be answered live during the broadcast. Dr. Shefali Tsabary , a world-renowned clinical psychologist, will explore areas of her research uncovering the reasons why we limit ourselves, identifying the ways our upbringing conditions us and the pathway to break free and break through our perceived limitations. Tsabary is also a New York Times best-selling author.  Her ground-breaking approach to mindful living and parenting has been endorsed by Oprah as revolutionary and life-changing.  Shefali’s blend of clinical psychology and eastern mindfulness sets her apart as a leader in the field of mindfulness psychology. This broadcast is Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. in AW 210, and is free to all students, staff and faculty. There will be a re-broadcast on March 7 at 6 p.m. at AW 210. The event will be hosted by iPlay America in New Jersey.

Dr. Drew Pinsky’s broadcast is on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. in AW 210, and he will talk about building resiliency and share findings from his research in exploring the science behind addiction and de-stigmatizing mental illness. Pinsky will share with the WWU audience, and the other campuses tuning in, about his personal stories of overcoming obstacles in his journey from being a medical school student to becoming one of the world's most recognized doctors. Pinsky is an addiction expert, best-selling author, and television and radio personality.

Diamond Dallas Page is participating in a livestream broadcast on Tuesday, March 12 at 4 p.m. in AW 210, and it is free to all students, staff and faculty. He will be sharing insights with members about reshaping the ways we think and deal with negative situations, tips for collaboration to accomplish goals and getting “unstuck” to learn how to create a “Positively Unstoppable” life. Page is an entrepreneur, speaker, actor and former professional wrestler better known as Diamond Dallas Page. He speaks around the world on topics such as adaptability, creating change, and recovering from setbacks.  After an injury threatened his career, Page developed DDP Yoga and in the process has changed millions of lives physically and mentally.
