WWU Faculty and Staff of Color Council to meet Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. via Zoom
The WWU Faculty and Staff of Color Council (previously known as the Minority Employees Council) will be hosting the first fall meeting on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 1-2:30 p.m. via Zoom.
At our meeting we will introduce the board and share goals for the 2020-21 academic year. Additionally, we would like to spend the majority of the time discussing how we can better support each other. Elijah McClain, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor are a few of the many who lost their lives due to the violent, volatile, and abusive systems of power and oppression that our peers of color, more specifically our Black peers face on a day to day. Thus, we would like to spend this year building community, discussing how we can enact change, but most of all support one another.
