WWU and Alexander Street Provide Dance and Music Online

 

Western Washington University and Alexander Street, an online music provider, will provide unlimited remote access to millions of tracks of music and video dance tutorials online starting July 1.

All WWU students, staff and faculty can use the program on the WWU Music Library website at library.wwu.edu/find/music-library  Demonstrations of the online service will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 31 in the WWU Concert Hall.

WWU Music Librarian Marian Ritter attended an Alexander Street initial presentation in Portland, Oregon and had her name drawn for a one year free subscription to the program.

“I wanted to share this free subscription with students, faculty and staff who can benefit from this on or off campus,” said Ritter.

Ending June 30, 2019, the website demo will feature over 10 million audio tracks, video of live performances, current popular music and more.  

Partners represented on the website will include the Joffery Ballet, The Royal Opera House and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Educational tutorials on using the video player, creating custom playlists, audio clip making and using the audio player will be accessible to those looking to enhance their user musical experience.

Available at anytime online, Alexander Street will give all WWU members the opportunity to utilize the website over summer break and into the coming school year. For one year access to the website, visit search.alexanderstreet.com.
