WWU Alumni Weekend (formerly Back2B’ham) Set for May 18-20

Western Washington University will host WWU Alumni Weekend (formerly Back2B’ham) May 18-20.

WWU Alumni Weekend will be packed with reunions and activities for alumni, faculty and staff, students, friends, family, and the greater community. The refocused branding and programming for WWU Alumni Weekend will include alumni-focused departmental gatherings and activities. Each department will also host open houses with the deans, which are free and open to the public and will include displays of current student work.

The $15 registration includes the weekend kickoff with mimosas and a greeting from President Sabah Randhawa; pop-up shops and live entertainment in Red Square; a Junior Viking Blast Pass for kids to explore campus under the guidance of Compass 2 Campus students; a climbing wall; a farm-to-table lunch on Old Main Lawn with a 250-foot zipline; and Party in the Library. There are many free activities including guided tours of Sehome Arboretum, the Vehicle Research Institute, campus, the Student Technology Center, the Outdoor Sculpture Collection, and Carver Gym; the 18th Annual Ridin’ Low in the 3-6-0 Lowrider Show; and an evening showing of the critically acclaimed animated Pixar feature “Coco.”

Activities that require additional ticket purchase include shows at Spanel Planetarium, the BelleWood Acres Family Brunch and Blossom or Distillery Tours, sea kayaking tours on Bellingham Bay, and a hike at Whatcom Falls Park.
