WWU Alumna Fumi Watanabe James of Pepsico’s Design + Innovation Center coming to campus Oct. 2

Director of Global Beverage at Pepsico’s Design + Innovation Center in New York City Fumi Watanabe James will give a free lecture on design at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2 in Miller Hall room 138.

The lecture is open to the public.

James is a graduate of Western Washington University with a BFA from the Design Department. She is widely recognized as a passionate creative thinker, experienced in leading cross-disciplinary teams that deliver innovative creative solutions and design strategies that drive business results. Including her 15 years of experience at Starbucks, she continues to build brands that have a strong and multi-faceted identity in her current position as the director of Global Brands at the Pepsico Design and Innovation Center in New York City. She credits her creative career as a continuing source of endless inspiration as well as personal growth.

Hourly parking is available in Lot 17G adjacent to the lecture hall, and free parking is available in the C/CR and 12A lots south of campus.
