WTA route changes go in effect June 16
WTA is implementing route changes beginning Sunday, June 16.
Following public comment, public hearings and planning, WTA has made changes to address failing routes, consistently late routes, requests from riders, and the need to eliminate “food deserts” (areas with no service to grocery stores).
The following changes affect the WWU campus (all routes leave from the downtown station):
105 – serves 32nd street, replaces the 5 and 11 (eliminated), a transfer at Bill McDonald Pkwy is no longer necessary.
107 – departs downtown at a different time
108 – frequency increased to 2x per hour, serves Samish Way
190 – travels 1x per hour
196 and 197 – added to supplement the 190 and serve Fraser St and Civic Field area
92 – eliminated
Service through campus remains the “Blue Line”, with service every 15 minutes.
