Wise & Well U to hold annual Flu Shot Clinic Oct. 14

This fall and winter, it’s more important than ever to reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses such as the seasonal flu. Getting vaccinated against the flu protects you, your family, and your community, and it lessens the burden on our healthcare systems and the providers who are continuing to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Getting the flu shot is easy, and the Wise & Well U wants to make it easier for those that work on campus.  Western’s Benefits Department will hold a flu shot clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for onsite critical employees. If you are not working on campus, it is recommended you visit your doctor or pharmacy covered by your insurance to get your flu shot.  With most insurance plans, there is no cost to you!

To make this as convenient as possible, pharmacists from Fred Meyer will be at the Viking Union MPR to administer the vaccinations.

Important: Kaiser Insurance Update

Please note Kaiser has opened a specialty pharmacy in Bellingham on Telegraph Road. Starting Oct. 1, the following pharmacies will no longer be covered by Kaiser:

  • Fred Meyer
  • Haggen
  • Rite Aid
  • Walgreens
  • Safeway
  • Costco

This does not affect those covered by Uniform Medical Plan.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to protect you against the flu this season!
