Winter workshops scheduled for Safe Zone allies

Trainings are scheduled throughout winter quarter for Safe Zone allies for students, staff and faculty.

The winter sessions are:

3 p.m. Jan. 23
9 a.m. Feb. 12
9:30 a.m. March 1

The three-hour workshops allow members of the Western community to be recognized as a Safe Zone ally. The trainings aim to increase attendees' knowledge and awareness of issues within the LGBTQ community; allow them to reflect on personal assumptions, biases and beliefs; and gain tools in how to create a safe space for members of the LGBTQ community and for other allies.
