Wildfire smoke levels rising - what you need to know

Air testing results indicate that wildfire smoke at work isn’t expected to reach regulated occupational limits, but local health officials and L&I still advise that, whenever possible, you avoid breathing smoke at work and home.

If wildfire smoke could affect your community:

  1. Check www.wasmoke.blogspot.com  or Active Wildfires in Washington for updates on wildfires and air quality for your location
  2. Learn the basics about smoke and how it can harm you and others you care about at  Smoke from Fires webpage
  3. Prepare for and deal with smoke by following recommendations in fact sheets (translated into multiple languages) from the Smoke from Wildfires Toolkit

Ask your employer about voluntarily using an N95 dust mask at work after you read, Wildfire Smoke and Dust Masks at Work, from L&I.
