What role do the arts play in sustainability? Join the conversation Nov. 5

Katy Borden, a Western Washington University alumna and artist services coordinator for Allied Arts of Whatcom County, will lead a discussion Nov. 5 about the role of the arts in sustainability.

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to attend and learn about what artists bring to the community. Additionally, attendees can help create a unique cloth "Wish for the Planet" to be added to the Vanishing Ice exhibit at the Whatcom Museum. Wishes for the Planet will be collected on campus all week and displayed at Western before the exhibit at the museum.

This Lunch and Learn Sustainability Conversation will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Wilson Library Room 265, the TLA seating area in the Learning Commons.

These are informal events, and some people bring a lunch. Tea, hot water mugs, and comfortable seating are provided.
