Western's Geosciences programs ranked #7 nationally by Study.com

Western Washington University's geosciences programs were recently ranked #7 nationally in 2021 by Study.com.  Geosciences is a broad umbrella of disciplines from across campus, providing an interdisciplinary study of all aspects of the Earth (land, water, and atmosphere), its origin and evolution, and the relationship between humans and nature.

Students enrolled in a geoscience degree program will likely immerse themselves in an intensive science-based curriculum with topics spanning geology, paleontology, chemistry and physics, geographic information systems (GIS), hydrogeology, and oceanography, among others. At Western, these disciplines are part of the fields of study in departments and programs in the College of Science and Engineering, Huxley College of the Environment, and the Marine and Coastal Science program.

The same rankings also placed Western's Mathematics program as #31 in the nation.
