Western's Cheerleading program to host four Virtual Cheer Clinics

The Western Washington University Cheerleading program will host four Virtual Cheer Clinics through the month of April.

Dates for the virtual clinics which will run on ZOOM are January 16, February 20, March 20 and April 10. Cost of each clinic is $30 with registration available at WWUVikings.com/CheerClinic. Members of the 2020-21 WWU Cheer team will host the clinics along with coaches Jenny Johnson and Megan Newsted.

Interested attendees will have the opportunity to learn dance, cheer and stunting. The virtual clinics are open to all interested people ages 14 and over and you do not have to be trying out to for the squad to attend. No experience is necessary for the clinics.

Here is a breakdown of what the virtual clinics will feature from 9 am – 12 pm:

  • Warm-up
  • Introductions
  • College Cheer Prep (Motions)
  • Cheers
  • Dance
  • Jump Class
  • Q & A

Attire for the clinics should include a plain black athletic top, black shorts or spandex (small logo OK) and appropriate footwear (athletic or cheer shoes). More info on recommended hair and makeup can be found at the registration site at WWUVikings.com/CheerClinic.
