Western to host two candidates for the Executive Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance
Western Washington University will host open presentation and Q&A sessions on Nov. 13 and 19 for the finalists for the position of Executive Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance.
The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance is responsible for overseeing compliance with civil rights and affirmative action laws, regulations and policies as it relates to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, citizenship, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or status as a disabled or other protected veteran. The Office is the institutional point of contact for federal and state agencies for equal opportunity and affirmative action compliance inquiries and compliance confirmation and is responsible for responding to external agency complaints and investigations.
The finalists will conduct their presentation and Q&A sessions with the Western community via Zoom. Each open session will be 45 minutes, beginning with a presentation of 10 to 15 minutes from the candidate, followed by a moderated question and answer period.
The open sessions with candidates are scheduled as follows:
