Western Students Providing Volunteer Tax Assistance Through April 17

Students from Western Washington University will offer free tax assistance through April 17 at Western’s Parks Hall 336 as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Sponsored by Western’s Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Society in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program assists low- and moderate-income taxpayers in preparing their tax returns.

Western’s hours for VITA will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m., except for Feb. 19.  Western’s VITA will be closed during intersession from March 15-April 2.

Participants should bring their social security card, photo ID for themselves and their spouse if applicable, a copy of last year's Federal tax return if possible, direct deposit information, and their tax documents such as W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, etc.
