Western’s Year-7, Comprehensive Accreditation Evaluation set for March 27-29

Western’s Year-7, Comprehensive Accreditation Evaluation will occur March 27-29. As part of this evaluation, 10 accreditation evaluators will be on campus to meet with students, faculty and staff.

Three open events are planned: 

An open faculty forum will be held Monday, March 27, 1:15-2:00 in the Old Main Solarium (OM 590). All faculty are welcome to attend.

An open staff forum will be held Monday, March 27, 12:00-12:45 in the Old Main Solarium (OM 590) . All staff are welcome to attend. 

An exit meeting will be held Wednesday, March 29, 11:00 in the Old Main Solarium. The evaluators’ tentative findings will be read out at this meeting, which all are welcome to attend. 

Accreditation is a voluntary system of self-regulation, carried out by peer-review, in which an institution is assessed against a set of standards. Regional accreditation is the highest form of accreditation a university can achieve. Our regional accreditation agency is the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Regional accreditation guarantees the transferability of Western’s credits and degrees, and the eligibility of students and faculty for federal aid and grants.
