Western’s Weekend MBA Program to Begin Annual Cohorts in January

For over nine years Western Washington University’s MBA Program has been operating in Snohomish County, having served four cohorts in a program that begins every two years. In January 2019 the program will be expanding to include an every-year start option for interested students.

“This expansion is an exciting growth opportunity for us, and means that we will be able to serve an increased number of students who want an in-person MBA experience, but oftentimes had to wait a significant amount of time if they missed the January start date every two years,” said the program’s Assistant Director, Kati Johnson.

Established in 2010, Western’s Weekend MBA Program is a part-time, two-year program that meets 20 weekends per year. The program is designed for professionals who wish to advance their careers in private, public, and nonprofit organizations. The cohort-based approach offers a high degree of interaction between students and faculty with a focus on translating theory to practice.

Over the past eight years the Everett MBA program has seen a steady increase in interest, and with the completion of the Everett University Center last August, now has expanded classroom space to accommodate a growing program.

Prospective students will get a chance to preview the program this summer at the “MBA for an Evening” event hosted by Western at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 at the Future of Flight Museum. This event is intended to connect current students, alumni, and faculty from Western’s MBA program with prospective students interested in joining the 2019 cohort.

Guests will enjoy a Special Speaker Presentation, networking opportunities, and the chance to ask questions or share their own experience in the program. No quizzes or assignments required.

Refreshments and appetizers will be served. RSVPs are required. To join the party, please click here to register or email weekendmba@wwu.edu.

The application deadline for the January 2019 program is Oct. 1.

Western’s Weekend MBA program is AACSB accredited, placing it in the top 5 percent of business schools in the world. Graduates of the program have found jobs at global corporations including Amazon, Microsoft, MSNBC, United Airlines and Boeing.
