Wednesday speaker advocates for grassroots movements as answer to global crises

Janae Choquette, co-chair of AGRA Watch and a graduate of the Evergreen State University
in political aconomy and food systems, will speak at Western Washington University Wedneday, April 13, as part of the World Issues Forums from Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies.

In the midst of global food, energy, climate and financial crises, Choquette believes the way forward is through working in solidarity and partnership with the communities most affected locally and throughout the world to build grassroots movements for systemic change.

Choquette's presentation, “Dysfunctional Philanthropy: Alternatives to the Gates Foundation’s ‘Green Revolution’ in Africa,” will take place from noon to 1:20 p.m. in the Fairhaven College Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
