Western Today staff

The office of the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services has hired Lynne Walker to serve as administrative assistant to Eileen Coughlin, the senior vice president and vice president for enrollment and student services. Lynne began her duties at Western Washington University on Monday, Feb. 3.

Walker, a long-time resident of the area, comes to Western with extensive experience assisting executive level administrators. She previously was the legislative administrator for the Bellingham City Council office, a position she held since 2004. Former positions include executive assistant to the Bellingham mayor (2002-04) and campaign manager/legislative aide to former Washington Rep. Kelli Linville (2000-02). In addition, Walker was a 2010 candidate for the seat of Whatcom County auditor.

Walker replaces Elizabeth Mason, who will be assisting with getting Walker on board and helping with special projects until her retirement from Western in early March.
