Wade Stringfield joins staff at SBDC

Wade Stringfield has joined the staff of business advisers at Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics’ Small Business Development Center.

Stringfield is a banking industry veteran, having spent nine years working for US Bank and Wells Fargo Bank in the Puget Sound area. His most recent position prior to joining the SBDC was senior business relationship manager for Wells Fargo’s Business Banking Group in Bellingham.

Stringfield is adept at providing valuable insights concerning business plans, financial statements, and proposals for commercial finance. His industry expertise includes manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, professional services, restaurants, and the healthcare industry.

He enjoys helping entrepreneurs with capital formation projects, completing financial packages, and understanding borrowing causes, financial ratio analysis, and cash flow analysis.

In addition to his banking career, Wade spent two years following his entrepreneurial urge and developed an idea for a retail shoe store from concept to execution.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with dual emphases in finance and marketing from Oklahoma Baptist University, and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma.

The WWU SBDC is part of the most comprehensive small business assistance network in the United States and its territories made up of over 1,000 SBDC programs. They are hosted by leading universities, colleges, and state economic development agencies, and are funded in part through a partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The SBDC serving Whatcom County is hosted by WWU’s College of Business and Economics and receives additional support from Whatcom County, the Port of Bellingham and the City of Bellingham.

Since 1983, the Small Business Development Center has enabled Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics to give back to the business community, and has helped to shape the economic future of Whatcom County.

The SBDC provides free, confidential advising, technical assistance, and research to business owners and managers in an effort to help businesses thrive throughout Whatcom County.
